There are Two type of Oven Thermometers the Dial and the Digital Oven thermometer being the easier one to read , The Oven Thermometer, can be used to check and to insure Temperature remains consistent throughout the baking or roasting time. With the added Timers you can ensure even cooking , ( i.e Time and temperatures are Set ).
How to find out if your oven is actually preheating to the right temperatures
If your oven isn’t cooking properly, it may not be heating to the set temperature like it should. Use this quick test to check and diagnose you oven. or you might have Undercooked or Over Cooked Food
Example if you put a Frozen Samosa ( a small triangular pastry filled with spiced meat or vegetables ) out of the freezer. Setting your Oven for preheating temperature of say 200.˚C, As the Alarm Buzzes put in the Samosa and set the timer.
Now you are waiting your Samosas to get hot and cooked , as the timer goes off, and you open the oven door to find an undercooked Samosa. which is hot to the outer surface, but cold in the core of it, Unfortunately, this problem is more common than you might think, and is even more detrimental when dealing with baked goods.
Part of the problem is that years of heating and cooling puts the oven’s internal components under a lot of stress, and may wear out or lose accuracy over time. So use a Oven Thermometer to check your oven is reaching the desired temperature and how to quickly, troubleshoot the problem. These Thermometers cal also be used to Calibrate the Oven
